Good News of Great Joy!
“I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.”
War breaks out between the Palestinians and the Israelis. Another carjacking in Minneapolis. Another senseless, driveby shooting. Another politician arrested and charged with corruption. The news we hear on a daily basis is often pretty negative, and can be pretty depressing.
What a striking contrast is the message we hear at Christmas. Instead of bad news, it’s good news, the good news of God’s love for all people, the good news that God became one of us so that he might save us from our sins, the good news of comfort and peace for hurting hearts, the good news of hope for the hopeless and the sure hope of eternal life in heaven.
We invite you to join us this Christmas at Trinity Lutheran Church as we celebrate the birth of God’s Son, Jesus Christ. Please join us as we celebrate the good news that was announced by angels and proclaimed by shepherds, the good news of our Savior’s birth.
